I repaired this clock labeled “Welby” made by Kundo. The dial is plastic with a pearl-like finish. I repaired a similar one labeled “Kundo” a few years ago. It was made in the 1950s and has a locking pendulum and leveling discs on the base.
Repair job 7588. I polished the pivots and replaced the suspension spring. It has unit 5E and a .0024 inch thick suspension spring.

As you face the back of the clock, turn the key counterclockwise to wind the clock.
If the spring is fully wound and the clock is not working, then it needs to be overhauled.
My repair service is described on the following web page:

Regarding your welby 400 day clock. Hi. I have a similar clock. It was stored 35 years by parents. Now I am trying to wind it except it seems froze up. There is a latch that seems to be locking a gear from turning except that latch does not seem to move.
I’m trying to ask if there is a certain way that needs to be followed to wind it. Can you please advise me ? Thank you .
