Schatz Miniature 400 Day Clock, May 1954

Here’s a 400 day clock I recently overhauled. I overhauled it and polished the base 15 years ago, but now it didn’t stay running. I disassembled and cleaned the movement, and polished or burnished several pivots, and replaced the suspension spring. Now it runs like new again.

This Schatz model is unusual in having a three ball pendulum (instead of the usual 4 balls), and an interesting metal dial.

See more pictures.

Repair job 8936 and 4727. I polished or burnished the pivots and installed a new 0.0024 inch thick suspension spring. Backplate no. 1299, suspension unit 10A (but I used 0.0024″ instead of 0.0023″). The date code on the back of 5 54 means May 1954

If you have a 400 day clock you’d like repaired, please see my 400 Day Clock Repair page on my business web site (Bill’s Clockworks). Thanks!
