I repaired a beautiful Schatz 400 day (anniversary) clock for a customer. The finish is black enamel paint and brass, and the dial has a scene of a man and lady seated on a bench. This model of 400 day clock is uncommon; the model usually seen is all brass with an enamel dial.
Repair job 8948. I polished the pivots, replaced the mainspring (19 x 36), and replaced the suspension spring (0.004″). The movement is backplate no. 1281 with a date code of 1-54 (January 1954). It has suspension unit no. 9.
