Hi I have just obtained a similar clock for restoration with a movement marked 44H and it has a spring coil not bell.I am not sure of age but believe to be around 1900/1923

It would use a coil gong.
Pl let me know if the strike is on the spring coil or a bell. I have just restored a 1907 octagon 12 inches school house belonging to my great grand father. I am stuck on this as I have no old spring or bell and do not know what to put for strike.
