Birge & Fuller Triple Decker 8 Day Weight Shelf Clock

Here’s a Birge & Fuller 8-day weight driven shelf clock I repaired. Birge & Fuller was in business from November 24, 1843 to February 5, 1848. See my post, Birge, Mallory & Co. 8 Day OG Clock, 1837 – 1943, for a list of the Birge clock companies. This clock is 35 3/8″ tall and 15 11/16″ wide. The dial’s minute track is 8 7/8″ diameter. The hands are not original. Both reverse painted glass tablets appear to be original.

Repair job 6957. I polished the pivots, installed 5 bushings aligned the count hook (for the striking) and polished the pallets. The time (right) weight is a new replacement that weighs 8 pounds 14 ounces. The strike weight is not original, and I forgot to write down its weight.
