I repaired this Seth Thomas tambour mantel clock called the “Sentinal #9”. It has a mahogany case 9 1/4 inches tall, 10 15/16 inches wide. The hands are the modern style “ST” hands, and the minute hand is 2 11/32 inches long. It was made around the 1920s or 1930s. The dial is aluminum.
Repair job 6998-4. I polished the pivots, installed 15 bushings, and replaced the warning lever return spring. Both mainsprings are nice, thin originals, 3/4 inch wide and 0.0165 inch thick. These are ideal mainsprings, there is no need for thicker springs.
